The April 15^th deadline is just around the corner.

Don’t forget that if you leased, or purchased a new car in 2007, you can deduct the sales taxes paid on that lease or purchase.

Any other large items, (Boats RV’s etc) also are eligible for the additional sales tax deductions.

Look in the mail starting May 2008 for the Economic Stimulus Checks that will be sent to taxpayers who filed Federal tax returns in 2006 and 2007.

If you have moved since your filing, please complete a change of address form right away.  These tax checks will not be forwarded.

Also look in the mail for the property tax rebate checks.  If you sold you home after March 2007, then you need to be careful to look for your check, or check with your local county assessor office.   Refunds will be made to the owner of record as of March 2007.  Unfortunately, in some cases, the checks will be mailed to that homeowner at the address of record on March 2007 even thought that owner has moved. 

The county is counting on honesty to get the checks where they belong.

 WATCH YOUR MAIL. 

Question:  If someone were to hand you $10.00 cash.  Would you keep it?

I have only ever had ONE person say no.  Of course you would.  They take a look at your company’s retirement program.  If you are not enrolled, please consider it.  MOST companies match a certain percentage.  So… If you are putting in $ 10.00 the company is putting in $ 10.00 for you.  Thus, handing you $ 10.00.  AND it is tax free.
